This bagpipe curriculum has been prepared in lesson format. Each lesson identifies specific performance indicators that must be achieved before moving on to the next lesson. The "Progress Checklist" located at the back of every tutor is designed to help monitor student's progress as they work through each tutor. Each volume comes complete with instructions, photos, diagrams and music, as well as information on: Theory, maintenance, tone, tuning, band and instrument drill, technical playing, reading music, music instructional training, bagpipe history and ear training.
Tutors include all of the requirements for both the Institute of Piping and Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Structured Learning Certification Programs.

Vol. 6: "First Player Level" - Subjects include Bagpipe maintenance and tuning that will appeal and apply to pipers of all levels of proficiency, Coordination, Instruction on how to play the tunes covered in volumes one through five, along with a Progress checklist
